EPL: Roy Keane warns Manchester United over C Ronaldo

Former Manchester United icon, Roy Keane, has issued a firm warning to the club over their expectations regarding returnee Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, a Real Madrid and Juventus legend, has netted four times in his first three games for the Red Devils.

Keane warned that other players must up their games alongside the Portugal captain if the Manchester based club is to be successful this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his fourth goal of the season against West Ham United on Sunday, hitting the equaliser after the Hammers took the lead earlier.

“If you look during midweek, he struggled upfront without getting decent support or possession,” Keane said on Sky Sports.

“Man United have to be careful because Ronaldo’s come to the club, everyone thinks it’s just going to fall into place, the players still need to step up and do better than what they had in the one or two years, but he’s still a world class player.”

Meanwhile, speaking to DAILY POST about his expectations from the legendary Portugal international, Michael Olawale, a staunch fan of the Red Devils, said he expects the 36-year-old star to score at least, 30 goals for the club this season.

As DAILY POST earlier reported, Ronaldo left Juventus this summer and made a shocking return to Old Trafford where he spent 6 years earlier in his career.

He has scored four goals in three matches already and Olawale, an enthusiastic fan, said, “He will keep scoring goals game after game. No going back. Do I remind you that we’re talking about the greatest player of all time? I’m confident Ronaldo will score not less than 30 goals for United this season.”

The former Sporting Lisbon winger is now 36-year-old but Olawale does not see anything age has to do with it, adding, “Ronaldo is not an ordinary human being. He’s a strange kind of person. Don’t even talk about his age because he doesn’t like speaking about it. He is disciplined and takes care of his body in a way that many footballers wouldn’t dare.” Dailyost
